Full Titanium Framelock Prototype | Gilllian Knives
Posted by The Gillian on Dec 2nd 2017
For the last two months (October, and November of 2017), I have been working on an all titanium frame lock design. This is my first frame lock knife, so there have been many hurdles; and the learning curve has been steep. I started programming this knife inside Fusion360 back in October, and only now at the beginning of December; am I able to hold the prototype in my hand. The prototype features include milled titanium pocket clip, titanium hardware, and a stainless tool steel blade. The blade locks up solid, flips well on Teflon washers, and has a strong detent. The knife is designed for fast, one handed opening, tip up, right hand carry.
While I am thrilled with this knife, I am still improving upon it. Currently in development, is the creation of a mechanical design to prevent lock-bar over travel . This will be the WIP (Work in Process) for the week starting Dec. 4, 2017
Yeah I know the picture is upside down, but I couldn't figure out how to rotate the image.
