Premium Caged Bearings - Gillian Made

The winter of 2021 (January and Feburary) has been spent making bearings. I spent countless hours researching, building fixtures, designing in CAD, manually programming G-code, machining out prototypes, and experimenting with them on the tester. The end result was what I term my Salt-n-pepper bearings, featuring Silicon nitride and Zirconia Ceramic ball bearings. The retainer cages, capture and retain the bearings are precision CNC machined; from phosphorous bronze, or an oil-impregnated (SAE-30) sintered bronze. The later creating a true self-lubricating retainer cage, that does not require any nano lubricants. Greater blade stability is achieved by increasing the number of ball bearings in the retainer, and increasing the diameter of the retainer cage around the pivot.
