    detent balls

For six bucks, this is a great value -- just for the table of liner and blade hole sizes as a function of detent diameter. Watch this video in conjunction with Gilliam's free YouTube video, where he talked about why a 2mm ball is better than a 1/16" for a flipper (more kinetic energy), and touches on the subject of "guillitine" closing. I'd certainly pay more for more information. While Christopher says a 1/16" ball should protrude .023" above the liner, what about the larger balls? He mentions (in the YouTube) four factors that affect drop shutting: • Strength of the lockbar • Size of detent ball • Height of detent ball • Whether or not the detent ball has a flat Tell us more about the flat on the detent ball! What are the tradeoffs between ceramic and stainless balls? Still, if you're trying to improve your skills, there's great information here and it's well worth the price! Thanks, Christopher!
